Meet The Designer
Bernardo Lopez, inspired by his Colombian roots, brings his deep passion for plants and design to every project.
"One of my earliest memories, is of my father working the land in the coffee fields of my native homeland, Colombia. I still recall the smells of the cut grasses and the sweet beans. My passion for plants, and my desire to create and build gardens, is a direct result of these memories." - Bernardo
His work has earned recognition from prestigious clients such as Merritt College, Design Within Reach, and the Association for Professional Landscape Designers. He is also a frequent guest lecturer for the Merritt College Horticulture Department.

Diverse Plant Selection: We incorporate native, exotic, and drought-tolerant, species from regions along the 37th latitude meridian like South Africa and Australia that share the Bay Area's climate.
Sustainable Materials: We consider, recycled elements, farmed hardwoods, and high-quality, abundant materials to create long-lasting, environmentally conscious designs.
Water-Wise Solutions: We design with water in mind when appropriate, offering efficient irrigation systems, and water-wise landscaping, but always tailoring solutions to fit your vision, whether it's lush greenery or sustainable elements.
Permeable Materials: We can integrate decomposed granite, permeable pavers, and grout-less designs to protect and optimize the water table.
Garden Integration: Our designs can incorporate organic gardening as well as a variety of unique and architectural plants, to provide both beauty and functionality. We strive to integrate beautiful design features with an abundance of fruit trees and vegetables.
Natural Resources & Elements: We blend natural resources such as flora, water, and fire with materials like stone and steel, layering these elements to create a landscape that achieves visual harmony and a distinct, personalized design.
