Berkeley Hills

About This Project

A challenging site in a wooded area with limited useable land made this project both unique and exciting. Extensive terracing with pre-cast cement blocks created distinct areas for gathering.

Custom built IPE planters doubled as functional sitting benches throughout the garden. Galvanized wire fences took advantage of neighboring park views. A wrap-around courtyard, which evokes a Mediterranean ambiance, includes a bocci ball court that provides distraction for the couple’s two young children.

The design focused on the need for water conservation and low maintenance. We created an unassuming delight using almost 100% unusual drought tolerant and exotic plants.
